Tooth-Colored Restorations (fillings)

There are many advantages to tooth-colored restorations. Dr. Lester places a tooth-colored resin that bonds to the teeth creating a tight, superior fit to the natural tooth v. silver amalgam fillings. Composite (or resin) restorations can be used in instances where much of the tooth structure has been lost. The tooth remains intact and stronger.

The ability for  composite restorations to bond to tooth structure can help to prevent fractures in teeth.

Replacing Silver/Metal with Tooth-Colored Restorations

With Dr. Lester’s treatment advancements, no longer will you have to suffer the embarrassment of unsightly and unhealthy silver/mercury fillings or metal margins of the past. Eliminate the dark, black appearance in your teeth with state-of-the-art tooth-colored resin materials.

The edges of the silver filling can wear down, become weak or break. This results in the tooth not being protected and cavities can re-occur. With age, the metal of a silver filling expands, contracts, and can split.

Silver fillings may contain 50 percent mercury. They can corrode, leak and cause stains on your teeth and gums.

Ask Dr. Lester if your silver fillings can  be replaced with Tooth-Colored Restorations.
