Comprehensive Preventive Care for your Health and Wellness

At  the office of Helen K. Lester, DDS, FAGD, PC, our team is prepared to answer all questions pertaining to your dental health and appearance.

Periodically Dr. Lester will conduct a thorough exam to ensure that your teeth remain healthy and free of decay or other concerns. Our hygienists will see you as often as prescribed by Dr. Lester, based on your individual needs to maintain optimal health.

Oral hygiene, specifically brushing and flossing, are a vital part of your dental health.

                                                                 Brushing

Dr. Lester recommends a toothbrush with soft bristles or a Sonicare with a small amount of fluoride toothpaste. She would not ask you to do something is would not be willing to do herself, she can be seen using her own Sonicare in the office after lunch.

She recommends to brush your teeth 2-3 times daily to avoid the accumulation of food particles and plaque:

As soon as the bristles start to wear down or fray, replace your toothbrush with a new one.

It is important to carefully floss and brush daily for optimal oral hygiene.

                                                                 Flossing

Flossing at night is especially important to make sure your teeth are clean before you go to bed. When you first begin flossing, your gums may bleed a little.  With proper technique, consistency and regular dental exams and cleaning this will improve.
